The first Banyan Tree Hotels & Resort in Japan will open in 2022 after the redevelopment of Hotel Ryozen in Kyoto.
The new hotel will be the first and only luxury international brand hotel with onsen facilities in the heart of Kyoto City.
In Japan, Banyan Tree operates two spas in partner hotels (in Miyazaki and Kobe), and a membership residence. It is also in a joint marketing agreement with Okura Nikko Hotel Management.
Banyan Tree has partnered with Richesse Management, a leading asset management company in Japan, to develop the Kyoto hotel.
Hotel Ryozen will cease operations at the end of October 2019. Banyan Tree’s 60-room luxury resort will include a specialty restaurant, bar, library, gymnasium, Banyan Tree Spa and onsen facilities.
