Living in Niseko: Guide For Foreigners

Niseko is a town located in the Shiribeshi Subprefecture in Hokkaido, Japan. For Japanese, this town principally relates to a mountain range and a municipal area. But as the time passed, the name is also used to make a reference to the ski resort encompassing Hokkaido’s Mount Yotei also known as the “Mt Fuji of Hokkaido”.

The town had an estimated population of 4,938 as of 30 September 2017 and is surrounded by mountains with numerous hot spring resorts also known as onsen. The surroundings are also famous for the white-water rapid river named the Shiribetsu River. Golf courses are also available in this town.
