The residential part of the city is packed with green space, the most popular of which is Akirudai Park. As an alternative, visit Tomonaga Akimitsu Museum, a charming contemporary museum surrounded by an “enchanted” forest.

The Price and Comfort Of Living In Akiruno

If you want to be surrounded by vast nature every day, there’s no better option than Akiruno. The city is well-connected with buses and trains; however, it may not be ideal if you commute to Tokyo, as it is a 50-minute drive away. Nevertheless, if you’re self-employed, or plan to work in the western part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, then it is a wonderful choice.

The residential part of Akiruno has a vibrant dining and shopping scene, and most of the businesses are Japanese. 

Finally, a huge benefit of choosing Akiruno for your next home is the low rent prices. It is easy to find a decent 2-bedroom apartment for ¥60,000 ($545), which is a standard price for a small studio in towns closer to Tokyo.
