  • News

Star Mica, a publicly-traded company in Tokyo that was founded by a former Goldman Sachs banker, recently allied with Tsukuba Company, operators of Cowcamo. Cowcamo is a property portal website that specializes in selling renovated homes in Japan.

"The Minoru and Teruko (Hirashiki) Yamasaki House" by Michigan State Historic Preservation Office is licensed under CC 2.0

By tapping into the user data of Cowcamo's more than 120,000 registered members, Star Mica was able to develop pre-planned renovation designs based on consumer preferences. For properties owned by Star Mica, it will be possible for customers to select a renovation design at the same time they make their home purchase. Both companies have already provided trial services and expect to sell about 30 to 40 homes annually using this new method.
